The Scrap

The Scrap is a collaboration with Daisuke Yokota. Using photographs of each other's studios as a starting point, the images were created by alternately layering each other's distinctive processing styles. The theme of this work is the fusion of the analogue contingency characteristic of Yokota's work and the digital contingency characteristic of Cobayashi's work.
The Scrapは横田大輔とのコラボレーション作品であり、互いのアトリエを撮影した写真を始点として、互いの特徴的な加工スタイルを交互に重ねてイメージを制作している。横田の作品に特徴的なアナログな偶然性と、小林の作品に特徴的なデジタルな偶発性の融合がこの作品のテーマである。
